Pete Wanat is a dedicated Game Production Executive with over 25 years of experience in the video game industry. As the President of Interactive Technology at AGBO, Pete combines his deep passion for gaming with his extensive expertise to transform film and TV properties into innovative and immersive interactive experiences.
Pete’s career is marked by a commitment to creating authentic and engaging games that resonate with a global audience. His work has earned industry recognition, including Emmy® Award nominations and a VMA win, and has contributed to games that have collectively grossed over $1 billion in revenue.
Before joining AGBO, Pete served as Chief Creative Officer at Nifty Games, where he led the creative vision for quick-session, head-to-head sports games like NFL Clash and NBA Clash, both of which achieved millions of downloads and set new benchmarks in mobile sports gaming.
Pete also held the position of Vice President of Games for Universal Pictures’ Digital Platforms Group. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in the development of globally successful titles, including “Despicable Me: Minion Rush,” which has been downloaded over 1 billion times. His work has often involved close collaboration with top filmmakers, including Chris Meledandri, Gore Verbinski, and Christopher Nolan, to bring beloved film franchises into the gaming world.
Some of Pete’s most notable projects include “Scarface: The World is Yours,” “Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay,” “Ghostbusters: The Video Game,” “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World,” “Jurassic Park,” and “The Thing.”
Pete holds a BA in Communications and Art History from Adelphi University, where he developed his foundational skills in storytelling, design, and visual arts. With a passion for interactive entertainment, Pete continues to lead AGBO’s efforts in creating the next generation of gaming experiences, always striving to innovate and inspire.
